#57 of 100 - MilkStrip

No. 57 of #100israelistartups is MilkStrip.
The first few months of a baby's life can be hugely important in their development and ongoing health. Breastfeeding, with all its inherent benefits, can still be a challenge to new mothers, with concerns over quality and safety.
In fact, 40.6% of women question whether or not their breast milk is still fresh before giving it to their baby, while more than 60% of women throw out stored breast milk, which is usually still good for consumption.
Given that in the US alone, some 85% of mothers breastfeed their babies in the first three months, this means a large proportion of breast milk is being unnecessarily thrown out.
So while the overall benefit of feeding babies breast milk has been well established and is the optimal option compared to formula milks, new mothers still want to know more about the nutrients they are feeding their babies.
This is where Israeli start-up MilkStrip comes in.
MilkStrip does away with the old ways of ensuring your baby’s well-being with a simple at-home test that provides results in real-time, and with the same accuracy as a fully equipped lab.
Data-Backed Results in Just 3 Minutes
The company's real-time diagnostic kits can be used at home to help mothers learn more about the freshness of their breast milk, their breast milk’s vitamin levels and how to best care for their babies with actionable insights. There is no packaging up a test kit, no mailing, no labs, no wait and parents get results in just three minutes.
The company recently launched its Vitamin C Breastmilk Rapid Test and the Expiration Breastmilk Rapid Test, which both empower breastfeeding mothers with valuable insights into the quality of their milk, and thus their baby’s health.
Avital Beck, Co-Founder & CEO told us:
